This song, made famous By Elvis and written by Otis Blackwell, was No.1 in the U.K the day I was born. That alone justifies having a go at recording a version. No... I can't sing like Mr Presley. He is the King after all!

Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Story behind the song
On All Shook Up, Elvis performed a kind of musical alchemy. He took a laid-back, lovelorn slice of classic rocking pop, with no political message and, with a "yay, yay" here and a surprising pause there transformed it into a subtle, shuffling statement of rebellion. One version of this song's origin tells that Otis Blackwell, the writer of the song, composed it at a studio after the owner of the studio had shaken a bottle of Pepsi and suggested him to write a song with the words "all shook up". Elvis Presley liked the phrase "All Shook Up" as a perfect line for a chorus. Elvis Presley explained in an interview in October 1957, "I've never even had an idea for a song. Just once, maybe. I went to bed one night, had quite a dream, and woke up all shook up. I phoned a pal and told him about it. By morning, he had a new song, 'All Shook Up'." Actor David Hess recorded this song a few weeks before Elvis Presley. His version was named "I'm All Shook Up". He explained in a 2009 interview, "As far as 'All Shook Up', the title came from a real set of circumstances and when I decided not to write it, Otis Blackwell did, and I had the first recording for Aladdin Records. It was my title, but Otis wrote the song and Presley took a writing credit in order to get him to record it." This single reached number-one position on the US Billboard Hot 100, the Billboard R&B and the country charts. "All Shook Up" became Elvis Presley's first number-one hit on the UK Singles Chart. It was certified two-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Rolling Stone magazine ranked this song number 352 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time
Lyrics
"All Shook Up" A well a bless my soul What's wrong with me? I'm itching like a man on a fuzzy tree My friends say I'm actin' wild as a bug I'm in love I'm all shook up Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah! My hands are shaky and my knees are weak I can't seem to stand on my own two feet Who do you thank when you have such luck? I'm in love I'm all shook up Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah! Please don't ask me what's on my mind I'm a little mixed up, but I'm feelin' fine When I'm near that girl that I love best My heart beats so it scares me to death! She touched my hand what a chill I got Her lips are like a volcano that's hot I'm proud to say she's my buttercup I'm in love I'm all shook up Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah! My tongue get tied when I try to speak My insides shake like a leaf on a tree There's only one cure for this body of mine That's to have the girl that I love so fine! She touched my hand what a chill I got Her lips are like a volcano that's hot I'm proud to say she's my buttercup I'm in love I'm all shook up Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah! Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah! I'm all shook up
