Story behind the song
I wanted to record this as one of my bucket list songs . i've done the live pulse tour version which is a bit hotter than the studio version. A big shout out to our 12 year old daughter Maizie as she sung the second verse kids part brilliantly ! Back in the day this was a protest song about corporal punishment and very rigid regime in schools which Roger Waters experienced. So this is about the kids kicking off !
Lyrics
We don't need no education We don't need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teacher leave them kids alone Hey Teacher ! leave them kids alone ! All in all it's just a nother brick in the wall All in all you're jus a nother brick in the wall Kids Part (Maizie) We don't need no education We don't need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey Teacher ! Leave them kids alone All in all you're just a nother brick in the wall All in all you're jus a nother brick in the wall Guitar solos and end

was in high school when this came out and exposure to PF prior to this was 'wish you were here' (single, not the LP), so this was the mainstream crossing Rog made, which saw 1 in 5 households own a copy - Steve it's just excellent mate, you've stamped your own take on this while nailing all key elements of the original - really dig the arrangement and interpretation, it's just so unbelievably good!

Blown away by this - such a great version - capturing all the emotion and power of the original. Your daughter’s vocal is pure magical - really punches the song home. Plus you have that Gilmour tone absolutely nailed. Great piece Steve - well done indeed!

Well this is quite authentic. Very hard to duplicate all that detail. This is very very impressive. Your daughter really shines as well. If this is her first recording make sure it’s not her last. I can remember my 54 year old nephew being very young and loved this whole album. Excellent work Steve

Oh my! this is like a 'golden' brick in the wall. There's lots and lots of attention to detail in the sounds. The intro is especially noteworthy for that. Believe it or not, I have never heard, 'The Wall' album by Pink Floyd all the way through. Excellent piece of work Steve.

Oh my word...the best cover I've heard since...well your last one Steve. I would never attempt this. You are so good at it. And you should be very proud of your daughter. She's definitely inherited your talent. I can hear you've spent a lot of time on this, getting it right...and I can tell you it's definitely paid off. First class work. To many stars to give you my friend. Amazing!

Brilliant job!! Knew you'd pull this off...and you have on every level. Vocals from you and Maizie are fantastic, so is the guitar work! Perfect job on harnessing that vibe, excellent production & effects. A massive achievement.
